The plans you didn’t know you needed this summer are at Muelle Uno

The plans you didn’t know you needed this summer are at Muelle Uno

You already know that at Muelle Uno we’re big believers in destiny and that we’re the sort of people who think that nothing – absolutely nothing – happens by chance. Any little thing, however simple and everyday it may seem, such as having an ice cream or going for a walk, can be magical when you realise it was meant to be; that it was bound to happen.

But this summer we’re going to take it a step further because, well, ‘destiny’ is all very well, but we prefer ‘destiny-YES’, which is basically everything that happens when you start saying YES to your summer plans.

An afternoon’s shopping?

Yes.

A concert?

Yes.

A film under the stars?

Yes.

Swing dancing by the sea?

Yes, that too.

Discovering constellations on a summer’s night?

Of course we will.

The thing is, sometimes life isn’t about making big decisions but about letting yourself be surprised by your impulses. About extending that mid-afternoon stroll so you end up watching the sunset. About accepting that plan you almost turned down. About discovering that you like that film you’ve seen a thousand times so much more when you watch it under the stars, surrounded by people who, like you, have decided to let themselves be surprised by fate. Or rather, by ‘fateYES’.

The thing is, the best stories begin when you leave room for the unexpected. When you allow yourself to improvise. When you say yes to trying something new, to listening to live music, to a late dinner, to a leisurely stroll, or to that open-air film that ends up becoming one of your summer memories.

Because there are summers that simply pass by… and others that stay with you forever. The ones that smell of salt, sound of live music and taste of ice cream melting as the sun goes down. The ones full of unexpected encounters, impromptu plans and moments that weren’t on the agenda but end up being the most important ones.

That’s why this year at Muelle Uno we want to celebrate all those ‘yeses’ that turn any ordinary day into something special. A summer to enjoy music, films, the views and all the good things that happen when you dare to say ‘yes’ to life.

Brisa Sessions at Muelle Uno: new concerts by the sea
As we’ve set out to embrace music more than ever this summer, we’re launching a very special collaboration with Brisa Festival.
This marks the launch of Brisa Sessions at Muelle Uno, a new series of free concerts that will transform Muelle Uno into a prime venue for discovering some of the most interesting emerging acts on the current music scene.

Throughout the summer, artists such as Benzú and Samuel Hope (12 June), MAPA (3 July), Kadriana Massri (31 July), Yerma (7 August), Terral (28 August) and Plastic Woods and Belinte (11 September) will be taking to our stage.

Because sometimes you go out for a stroll and end up discovering your next favourite song.

A night to gaze at the stars
Not all summer plans take place at ground level. On 20 June, we’ll be holding a stargazing session to explore the night sky from one of Málaga’s most special spots. A unique experience to enjoy the universe, learn a little more about it and remember that there are few things as beautiful as a summer’s night under the stars.

Special ‘Summer Love’ Fancine
And if there’s one thing summer lends itself to, it’s love blossoming. And the protagonists of the films we’ll be watching this year under the stars as part of our beloved Summer Fancine – our collaboration with the University of Málaga’s Fantastic Film Festival – know all about that.
This year, the series will be dedicated to those unforgettable romances that have been with us for generations. We’ll be moved once again by films such as *Stardust* (24 June), *Ghost* (1 July) and *The Princess Bride* (8 July) – films that prove that some stories never go out of fashion.

And for those of you who can’t listen to a song without ending up singing it at the top of your lungs, get your hair gel and quiffs ready, because we’ll also be screening *Grease* (15 July) with a live band so you can give it your all.

Because summer love can last a night… or a lifetime.

Swing at sunset
Some people listen to music and smile. Others listen to music and dance. If you’re one of the latter, our Swing evenings are back this summer – a monthly event to fill the afternoons by the sea with rhythm (28 June, 26 July, 9 August and 6 September)
